Reminder to Wednesday Group
Reminder that tomorrow is the St. Emily Play Day and that we will be participating in the outdoor activities during second block. Please remember to bring a hat, sunscreen, and water bottle. As well, if you purchased the hot dog lunch, remember that you will receive one hot dog, a bag of chips, and a juice box. As well, if you ordered Subway, the subs will be delivered tomorrow morning so that they will still be fresh for you tomorrow at lunch. Lunch will be taking place outside tomorrow (as a picnic lunch on the grass) so make sure you bring something that does not require the use of the microwave.

Aussie X Program Next Week
Important
St. Emily will be offering the Aussie X program for students next week. Permission forms will be going home this week and must be returned on your child's PGL day next week if they wish to participate. Unfortunately, if I do not receive the permission form, completed and signed, on the day your child will be participating, your child will not be permitted to participate.
Aussie X is an exciting physical activity program where junior students will be learning to play Footy (to learn more about this sport check http://www.theaussiex.com/footy/).
For more information about Aussie X please check The Aussie X website at http://www.theaussiex.com/
If your child was absent this week or did not receive a permission form, please print and complete the form if your child is interested in participating (by clicking on the link). Aussie X Permission Form

Dear Parents/Guardians,
My
name is Miss Hodgins and I am your child’s new PGL teacher. I am very excited
to be a part of such a lovely class and school community! Prior to becoming
your child’s PGL teacher, I most recently taught Grade 4 at St. Stephen.
This
past week was very busy for your child as he/she continued to work on his/her
Open Project and began to research a myth about gifted students for the Myth
Busters assignment. Over the next few weeks, students will complete and present
ongoing projects and assignments as well as new assignments (including: Open
Project, Myth Busters assignment, Digital Camera assignment, etc) which will
include the use of technology as well as creating a poster on bristol board. We
will also continue with the incorporation of our Catholic faith in our everyday
studies.
As
another way of incorporating 21st Century Learning into our
classroom, our class now has a blog. The blog address is http://misshodginsblog.blogspot.ca/. Each day one or two students will
update the blog page for their given day (for example, Monday’s group will update
the Monday page, etc). I will update the blog’s homepage with important
information and reminders. I will also update the “Games” section of the blog
with fun educational games that your child may wish to play at home. If
students have a game that they would like me to add to our blog, they may send
me the link and I will post it if I feel that it is educational.
Sincerely,
Miss
Hodgins
